Pronation / Spring Control ( PSC )
The PSC foot wrap is a totally new concept for treating planter fasciitis, chronic heel pain, excessive pronation, heel spur syndrome, and Shin Splints.
The Pronation / Spring Control ( PSC ) Foot/Ankle Positioning Strap helps to align the foot/ankle in the neutral position and assist in the treatment and prevention of related injuries. The PSC is a comfortable, non-adhesive foot wrap which allows for a softer heel strike and healthier gait.
The Reusable PSC Foot/Ankle Positioning Strap has the holding power of a tape wrap, the alignment benefit of an orthotic and the lifting function of an arch support and is less cumbersome then other supports, orthotic or braces. It eliminates the discomfort and irritation of tapes and/or adhesives.
Use the PSC when Low/Dye taping method is recommended. Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Podiatrists and other Medical Professionals can successfully dispense or prescribe The PSC versus other prescribed, more cumbersome, more expensive supports or braces. The Velcro hook closure allows for easy adjustment and secure compression/support therapy
The PSC is washable, we recommended rinsing the device after each use and allowing it to air dry overnight to extend the life of the product.
Plantar Fasciitis
Symptoms: Pain in the sole of the foot, either
at the base of the heel, or in the arch. People with plantar fasciitis typically experience pain in the early morning when they arise. As the foot is put down on the ground there is a sudden, searing sensation on the back of the undersurface of the heel. The pain continues and as the foot stretches out a little bit with walking, some of the pain subsides. Typically this improves slightly, only to worsen again as standing and walking increase over the course of the day.
Pain may be most intense when
climbing stairs or standing on your toes or after long periods of
standing.
Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. It occurs when the long, flat ligament on the bottom
of the foot (plantar fascia) stretches irregularly and develops
small tears that cause the ligament to become inflamed. Plantar fasciitis is a common problem among middle-aged adults and some athletes.
Shin Splints
Shin splints can be caused by sudden increases in mileage, walking uphill, overtraining, walking faster than normal, jumping, running stairs, or just too much distance. They can occur on the medial, or inside of the shin, or on the lateral, or outside of your shin. Medial shin splints are usually caused by excessive pronation or flat feet, and often by pounding from running, or sports like tennis, volleyball, and other weight-bearing activities. If you have medial shin splints and flat feet or excessive pronation, an orthotic device or over-the-counter arch support like PSC can often be helpful.
