I had HORRIBLE IT band pain when training for the NYC marathon- I couldn't even go a mile without extreme pain. With my pattstrap, foam roller, and PT, I ran the marathon well under my goal time. I refused to run a pre-marathon run without my pattstrap. I just tried my first post-marathon double digit run without my pattstrap, and had to walk a bit due to IT pain- that's what I get for leaving my pattstrap at home!
